The Surprising Gift of Doubt by Marc A. Pitman was one of the easier and more insightful leadership books I’ve read recently. The tips in this book have helped me to understand leadership positions better even though I’m not specifically in one myself. I think it’ll be the same for you when you read this book.
There are four quadrants Marc explains in his book. One of the quadrants helps you with tips about looking inwards which helps you overcome your doubts about your abilities to lead. Another helps you to look at both the external and internal factors of leadership. The fact that Marc has also included graphics, one about the DISC system which classifies four types of people, tells me that this book is not messing around. It’s based on real-life and well-researched facts about who we are as people and how we can lead the best way possible.
Should you get The Surprising Gift of Doubt?
I’d say that if you are a leader of any sort, even if it is just a community and not a business, then it’s well worth your time and money to invest in Marc’s book.
You’ll still be able to find useful scientifically proven strategies to better communicate with people around you. No matter who you are.
So if you want a leadership book that actually touches not just on the author’s experiences, but scientific facts about how people interact with each other, The Surprising Gift of Doubt has a lot to offer.
